Game of Chomp

Wednesday, October 26, 2005

I found this very chompy cute and tasty game online [See link below]. Unfortunately, I have yet to win against my opponent. Let me know if you do.

Instructions:

The game of Chomp is like Russian Roulette for chocolate lovers. A move consists of chomping a square out of the chocolate bar along with any squares to the right and above.Players alternate moves.

The lower left square is poisoned though and the player forced to chomp it loses.

Try your luck against the machine. You chomp on a square by clicking on the square with the mouse. You move first.  You can win from the initial position, but be careful!

Click on the CHOMPY GAME to try it. =p

Chomp!

Komikon Review

Tuesday, October 25, 2005

Three days after KOMIKon and I still have not updated my blog (my apologies!!!) The fever of the said event has been transferred to me. Literally. It did not help that my *ahem* monthly visitor also chose this memorable day to drop by and bleed me to death. Ok, not to my death, but to very painful cramps. But this post is not about me so to continue…

I would be lying if I say that Komikon 2005 went by without a glitch. After all, it was a first of its kind in many ways. It’s a first for Artists Den to organize an event. It’s the first Philippine comics convention specifically catering to Filipino artists. It’s the first (well, maybe not the first) that friendships, patience, personalities and beliefs among the group was challenged. In spite of all these, the group, with the help of the sponsors, exhibitors, participants and everyone who have contributed, we can definitely say that KOMIKON 2005 was a success! Thanks so much! We all deserve accolades (or Punta Fuego wink!wink!)!

But we, as the organizers acknowledge that there is still a lot of room for improvement. And we know that that is our next challenge. That is why we would really appreciate your comments, suggestions, criticisms, etc. This would only ensure or at least help make next year’s KOMIKON an even bigger success.

After all, we have the next 360+ or so days to prepare for it. Time is ticking!

Miscellaneous Lyrics: Fix You, Let Me Love You, Better Days

Thursday, October 13, 2005

I am listening to MSN Radio’s Top 40 hits when several songs reached out to me..

Fix You (by Coldplay)

When you try your best but you don’t succeed
When you get what you want but not what you need
When you feel so tired but you can’t sleep
Stuck in reverse

And the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you can’t replace
When you love someone but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

And high up above or down below
When you’re too in love to let it go
But if you never try you’ll never know
Just what you’re worth

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

Tears stream down your face
When you lose something you cannot replace
Tears stream down your face
And I

Tears stream down your face
I promise you I will learn from my mistakes
Tears stream down your face
And I

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you.

Let Me Love You (by Mario)

Mmmmm….. Uh…. Mmmmm…. Yeah…. Mmmmm…. Yeah, Yeah, Yeah Mmmm… Uh…. Mmmm….. Yeah…. Mmmmm….. Yeah, Yeah

Baby I just don’t get it
Do you enjoy being hurt?
I know you smelled the perfume, the make-up on his shirt
You don’t believe his stories
You know that they’re all lies
Bad as you are, you stick around and I just don’t know why

If I was ya man (baby you)
Never worry bout (What I do)
I’d be coming home (Back to you)
Every night, doin’ you right
You’re the type of woman (Deserves good things)
Fistful of diamonds (Hand full of rings)
Baby you’re a star (I just want to show you, you are)

You should let me love you
Let me be the one to
Give you everything you want and need
Baby good love and protection
Make me your selection
Show you the way love’s supposed to be
Baby you should let me love you,
Love you, love you, Lo…ve You, Yeah…

Listen
Your true beauty’s description looks so good that it hurts
You’re a dime plus ninety-nine and it’s a shame
Don’t even know what you’re worth
Everywhere you go they stop and stare
Cause you’re bad and it shows
From your head to your toes,
Out of control, baby you know

If I was ya man (Baby you)
Never worry bout (What I do)
I’d be coming home (Back to you)
Every night, doin’ you right
You’re the type of woman (Deserves good thangs)
Fistful of diamonds (Hand full of rings)
Baby you’re a star (I just want to show you, who you are)

You should let me love you
Let me be the one to give you everything you want and need
Ooh Baby good love and protection (Oh…)
Ooh Make me your selection
Show you the way love’s supposed to be
Baby you should let me…

You deserve better girl (You know you deserve better)
We should be together girl (Baby)
With me and you it’s whatever girl, hey!
So can we make this thing ours?

You should let me love you
Let me be the one to give you everything you want and need
Good love and protection
Make me your selection
Show you the way love’s supposed to be
Baby you should let me love you,

You should let me love you
Let me be the one to give you everything you want and need
That good love and protection
Make me your selection
Show you the way love’s supposed to be

You should let me love you
Let me be the one to give you everything you want and need
Good love and protection
Make me your selection
Show you the way love’s supposed to be (yeah)

Let me love you

[Mario (talking):]
That’s all you need baby

Better Days (by Goo Goo Dolls)

And you asked me what I want this year
and I try to make this kind and clear
just a chance that maybe we’ll find better days
’cause I don’t need boxes wrapped in strings
and designer love and empty things
just a chance that maybe we’ll find better days

So take these words and sing out loud
’cause everyone is forgiven now
’cause tonight’s the night the world begins again

I need some place simple where we could live
and something only you can give
and that’s faith and trust and peace while we’re alive
and the one poor child who saved this world
and there’s ten million more who probably could
if we all just stopped and said a prayer for them

So take these words and sing out loud
’cause everyone is forgiven now
’cause tonight’s the night the world begins again

I wish everyone was loved tonight
and somehow stop this endless fight
just a chance that maybe we’ll find better days

So take these words and sing out loud
’cause everyone is forgiven now
’cause tonight’s the night the world begins again

’cause tonight’s the night the world begins again

Your Personality Is

Guardian (SJ)
You are sensible, down to earth, and goal oriented. Bottom line, you are good at playing by the rules. You tend to be dominant - and you are a natural leader. You are interested in rules and order. Morals are important to you. A hard worker, you give your all at whatever you do. You’re very serious, and people often tell you to lighten up. In love, you tend to take things carefully and slowly. At work, you are suited to almost any career - but you excel in leadership positions. With others, you tend to be polite and formal. As far as looks go, you are traditionally attractive. You take good care of yourself. On weekends, you tend to like to do organized activities. In fact, you often organize them!
