It’s time for the “Big Time”
Thursday, January 19, 2006Last Monday, Teddy and I attended the premier showing of Big Time at the Podium. Thanks to Vives Anunciacion, the Assistant Director for the invites. 
Apparantly, Vives is a fan on Beerkada, and therefore invited Lyndon. Aside from the invitation, we were given Big Time shirts and nachos during the event. Thanks again Vives!
What exactly is Big Time? It is a digital comedy produced by Arkeomedia and Blue Water for Cinemalaya 2005. In fact, the movie won best Screenplay and Best Sound for a full length feature in the Cinemalaya Film Festival 2005. Big Time was written by Mario Cornejo and Monster Jimenez (she’s a she, and she’s pretty), directed by Mario and produced by Monster. As I’ve mentioned earlier, Big Time is a digital film, and will be shown in SM Theaters nationwide (
SM Megamall, SM North Edsa, SM Manila, SM Sta. Mesa, SM Fairview,
SM Southmall, SM Cebu, SM Pampanga and SM Davao) starting January 25.
As a short background here’s a snippet on what’s it about from their site:

How did I find the film? It was a breath of fresh air to see a Filipino film of this quality. I am no movie analyst or expert, but from the viewer’s side, I really enjoyed it. It’s a refreshing break from the usual fare being shown in our theaters. It’s not the first, and I hope it will not be the last in our quest to produce good quality Filipino films that we can be proud of.
I don’t want to put any more spoilers for the film, so I do hope you go to the SM cinemas starting January 25 and find out what it takes to go BIG TIME.
