Lyndon Gregorio at the 11th Asian Cartoon Exhibit

Thursday, May 25, 2006

Every year, the Japan Foundation organizes the Asian Cartoon Exhibition where they showcase the various cultures and societies of Asia through the medium of cartoons. They would select one artist to represent the countries from Asia and these artists would provide cartoons based on the theme of the year. This year, 2006, is the 11th Asian Cartoon Exhibit with the theme of "Asian Youth Culture". And the chosen representative of the Philippines is none other than …

… my TEDDYBEAR!!!

*ahem* *ahem*

Let me rephrase that. The chosen delegate from the Philippines to draw cartoons for the 11th Asian Cartoon Exhibit: Asian Youth Culture is LYNDON GREGORIO. *round of applause*

Ms Bambi Diaz of The Japan Foundation Manila contacted Lyndon and after receiving his curriculum vitae has confirmed that Lyndon has indeed been chosen for this annual event. (Thank you very much Bambi and JFM!!!)

Teddy and I are so excited after learning that he would be sent to Tokyo, Japan at the last week of October to participate in the Exhibit’s Forum. We are now undertaking preparations for the said event and we are going to chronicle the progress of the event from now till October and even after the event in our new blog: The Asian Cartoon Exhibit 2006.

Join us on our trip by reading our preparations, progress and thoughts on this year’s exhibit. Read our first post which happened to be the very first comics for this happening and see Lyndon’s initial reaction to this event.

We’ll be posting more updates soon. See yah!
