Feeding Frenzy - A Chompy Game
Friday, June 2, 2006I was browsing through the games in Yahoo and decided to try out one called "Feeding Frenzy". I was a bit amused to find out that the game involves eating fish smaller than you so that you can get big and eat bigger fish!
When I tried it out, a word close to my heart was included in the game. What is it? The word "Chomp!" of course! 
Whenever "my fish" would eat consecutively and in combos, it would go "Chomp!". Hehehe… So I just had to recommend it here in my blog.
If you get the free download (in contrast to playing the game online), you get to unlock 6 free underwater screensavers whenever you clear a stage. Aside from that, whenever you clear a level, you learn lots of amazing fun facts for under the sea.
Here are some fun facts I found out…
A male angler fish attaches himself to a female and lives as a parasite for the rest of his life.
When parrot fish sleep, they cover themselves in a protective mucus that keeps other fish from smelling them.
Despite their delicate appearance, puffer fish have boney mouthplates that help them crunch up shellfish, crabs, or any other creatures that end up in their mouths.
Many brightly colored reef fish have poisonous skin, flesh, or eggs. The poison comes from the toxic algae that is their main food source.
"Black" pearls range from gray to black. Some may also contain shades of blue, green, yellow, pink or purple.
Parrot fish eat live coral, grinding its skeleton into fine sand. A single parrot fish can create up to a ton of sand in one year.

Up to which level did you play?
Here's a tip (for any Yahoo game), go to games.yahoo.com and play the web version of the game for one time until you reach game over. Here's the good part, when you log off the internet, you can still visit the page and play the game! The only thing is, it's limited to 4 levels I think, and the web-version doesn't always have the same features as the full download. But at least you get to see more trivia.

- When inflated, a puffin fish's stomach increase to nearly 100 times its original volume.
- Many brightly colored reef fish have poisonous skin.
- Puffer fish are greedy. Supposedly if a lot of food is available, a puffer fish will eat until it seems stunned.
